Antique & Vintage Postcards

A rosy-cheeked child in a wide-brimmed purple hat and green jacket plays doctor to a tucked-in doll, medicine bottles lined up on a tiny bedside table — one of illustrator F.E. Nosworthy's most endearing domestic nursery scenes, published by F.A. Owen Co. of Dansville, NY around 1913. The verse reads: "On this day did Cupid's dart / Find its way into my heart / So to you I send this line / To say I'll be your Valentine." Mailed February 13, 1913 from Needham, Massachusetts, the card was sent by Catherine and Lucille to a recipient named Wendell in Waldoboro, Maine — a sweet sibling gesture that survived over a century.
