Postcard 1930s Fern Lake Estes Park Rocky Mountain National Park Colorado Linen

Estes Park, Colorado, USA1935LinenGood

Cool and serene, Fern Lake mirrors a jagged crown of snow-capped peaks through a forest of towering pines in this linen-era gem from Rocky Mountain National Park — a scene so pristine it feels like stumbling upon wilderness three miles by horse trail from the nearest road, exactly as the card's own description promises. Printed by the Sanborn Souvenir Company of Denver and bearing the Curt Teich Chicago imprint, this card dates to the linen era (c. 1930s–early 1940s) when hand-tinted color cards were the dominant souvenir medium for America's booming national park tourism. The card was never mailed, preserved in unused condition, its one-cent stamp box still empty — a clean survivor from the golden age of national park postcards.
