Postcard 1930s Straelen Germany Haus Coull Manor House RPPC Unused JKRA

Straelen, Germany1932RPPCExcellent

Tucked behind a screen of ancient oaks and ornamental shrubbery, Haus Coull in Straelen — a small Lower Rhine market town near the Dutch border — gazes serenely from this quietly beautiful real-photo postcard: its Baroque onion-domed tower peeks above the treeline while a manicured garden path winds through lush grounds toward the manor's stone façade, the whole scene dappled in that particular soft grey light of a summer day in the German countryside. Straelen's Haus Coull is a historic moated manor house (wasserschloss) with roots in the medieval period, photographed here by J. Krapohl in the interwar era. The card was produced on JKRA Chamois photographic paper stock, a quality real-photo paper popular in Germany in the late 1920s–1930s. The reverse is entirely unused, bearing the catalog number 16499 in the stamp box — a pristine, unwritten survivor.
