Postcard 1939 Calle de Taxco Guerrero Mexico Watercolor Art Fischgrund RARE

Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico1939Pre-linenExcellent

A sunlit cobblestone lane in Taxco, Guerrero — Mexico's legendary silver city — glows in warm watercolor tones, two women in traditional dress pausing in the play of light and shadow beneath red-tiled rooftops tumbling with flowering window boxes, evoking the timeless colonial charm that made Taxco a mecca for artists and travelers alike. Registered in 1939, this early Fischgrund production is a superb example of the tinted art-postcard genre that flourished in Mexico just before the linen era gave way to chrome; the scene is rendered with the delicate brushwork of a skilled illustrator — signed in the lower right — conveying the steep, winding callejones for which Taxco is renowned. Published by P. Sanchez H. y Cia., Mexico D.F., with registration conforme a la ley 1939, this card is a genuine pre-linen collectible of considerable historical interest.
