Postcard København Copenhagen City Hall Rådhuset Denmark c1910 Real Photo

Copenhagen, Denmark1910Pre-linenExcellent

A bustling Rådhuspladsen — Copenhagen's great City Hall Square — fills this crisp real-photo-style card with the energy of Edwardian urban life: trams glide along their tracks, horse-drawn vehicles navigate the wide plaza, and crowds of Copenhageners in period dress stroll beneath electric arc lamps, all overshadowed by the magnificent red-brick Rådhuset (City Hall) completed in 1905, its soaring clock tower flying the Dannebrog against a dramatic clouded sky. This is early Copenhagen at its confident, newly modernized best, captured just years after the city hall's inauguration and before the First World War transformed European society. Published under the "Eneret" (exclusive rights) imprint, number 28, by a Danish publisher using the distinctive diamond-logo mark — likely Stenders or a contemporary Copenhagen firm. The reverse is entirely unused and pristine, with no stamp or address.
