Expo 67 Montreal Postcard Chrome Canadian Industries Pavilion EX224

Montréal, Canada1967ChromeGood

Vivid triangular green canopies and the gridded brown mass of the Canadian Pulp and Paper Industry Pavilion pop against a brilliant blue Montreal sky in this chrome-era Expo 67 souvenir — a snapshot of the most celebrated World's Fair of the 20th century, held on the man-made Île Notre-Dame and Île Sainte-Hélène in 1967. The Steel Pavilion's dramatic saw-tooth glass facade gleams at left while visitors throng the waterfront promenade, the fair's signature mushroom-capped light poles punctuating the scene. Canada's centennial fair drew over 50 million visitors and redefined national pride; the Canadian Pacific-Cominco Pavilion visible here represented the country's industrial might at its postwar peak. Published by Les Messageries de Presse Benjamin Ltée for official Expo 67 distribution, card number EX224, printed by Plastichrome of Canada.
