Antique & Vintage Postcards

Cobblestones still wet from a morning shower catch the pale light along the Rue Calvin in Geneva's old city, the austere stone façade of the Maison Calvin — where John Calvin himself is said to have lived during the years he shaped the Protestant Reformation — rising on the left with a commemorative plaque barely legible in the shadows, while a church steeple punctuates the narrow sky at the street's far end. Published by the distinguished Geneva photo-publisher Jullien Frères under their "Magasin Suisse, C. Goerg, Genève" retail imprint, catalogue number J.J. 2066, this undivided-back card dates to approximately 1900–1904. The reverse carries a stamp box outline and address lines formatted for the "M." salutation style common to early French-language UDB cards, and the card was never posted, preserving it in clean condition — a rare street-level glimpse of Reformation-era Geneva that appeals equally to topographic collectors and church-history enthusiasts.
