Antique & Vintage Postcards

Apple blossoms tumble across the foreground in extravagant white clusters while the blue mirror of the Ulvik fjord retreats into the snow-capped peaks of inner Hardanger — this is Norway at its most seductively beautiful, the brief magical weeks each May when the orchards of the fjord district burst into flower just as the high-country snowfields begin to melt. Published by Knut Aune Kunstforlag, one of Norway's most respected mid-century postcard houses, the card is part of their "Et ekte Aune kort" (A genuine Aune card) series, printed by Ultra and identified as series F-1335-3, titled in both Norwegian (Utsikt over Ulvik-fjorden, Indre Hardanger) and English (View of the Ulvik fjord, Hardanger). The Hardanger region, already famous for its folk embroidery and its cider, became a postcard staple in the 1950s–60s as Scandinavian tourism blossomed alongside those orchards. This unused card carries pencilled price notation "25" (øre, likely original retail).
