Mailed airmail from Bergen in July 1965, this vivid chrome dual-view card carries a breezy message from Edna to her friends Bob and Priscilla in Avon, Massachusetts — "This is beautiful country over here. You should some day plan a trip over here and see it for yourselves" — a sentiment as fresh today as when she penned it sixty years ago. The top panel sweeps across the entire Bergen cityscape from Mount Fløyen's summit, two young women in colorful 1960s clothing leaning over the stone parapet to take in the fjord panorama below. The lower panel reprises the famous tunnel-arch view of Fløybanen cars No. 1 (blue) and No. 2 (red) passing at mid-mountain, the harbor glittering behind them. The Europa 1964 90-øre stamp — depicting the stylized daisy-wheel flower design — franks the card with a Bergen machine cancel dated JUL 22, 1965.
