Antique & Vintage Postcards

Ivy and willow crowd the mossy stone wheel of the Old Mill at Brewster, its cedar-shingled walls darkened with age, while a pair of sunbathers lounge on the boulders at the millrace's edge — a timeless Cape Cod summer scene anchored by a structure that has stood since 1660. One of the oldest surviving grist mills in New England, the Stony Brook Mill in Brewster, Massachusetts, has long been a favorite subject for artists and photographers drawn to its picturesque combination of rushing water, ancient stonework, and lush summer greenery. This chrome card was produced using Curteich's famed 3-D Natural Color Reproduction process, distributed by E. D. West Co. of South Yarmouth, a major regional Cape Cod postcard distributor. The card is unused and in excellent condition, a clean example of the Curteich chrome aesthetic that defined American travel postcards from the late 1940s through the 1970s.
