Postcard 1930s-40s Neumarkt Steiermark Parish Church Interior Austria RPPC

Neumarkt in der Steiermark, Styria, Austria1940RPPCExcellent

Down the empty center aisle of the Pfarrkirche Neumarkt in Styria, Austria, a black-and-white "Echt Photo" lens captures the full drama of a small Baroque Catholic parish church — Gothic ribbed vaulting overhead, an ornate gilded high altar blazing with saints and sunburst monstrance, a carved pulpit with an angel gesturing from the left, and side altars flanking the nave in warm shadow. This is a real photo postcard (RPPC), printed on genuine photographic paper with the characteristic deckle edge, made by Hermann Lepuschütz of Neumarkt, Steiermark — a local photographer serving the regional tourist and devotional postcard trade in the interwar or early postwar Austrian period. The card was never mailed, remaining unused and blank on the reverse, preserving it in exceptional condition. Neumarkt in der Steiermark is a small market town in the Murau district of Styria; its Gothic parish church, with Baroque interior fittings, dates to the late medieval period. Cards by Lepuschütz are locally documented but rare outside Austria.
