Antique & Vintage Postcards

Three landmarks of Franconia's Main River valley anchor this handsome multi-view greetings card — the twin-towered Baroque pilgrimage basilica of Vierzehnheiligen (Fourteen Holy Helpers), the dramatic sandstone crags of the Staffelberg hill, and the commanding hilltop silhouette of Schloss Banz monastery — all rendered in sharp black-and-white photography on a single card bearing the warm inscription Gruß aus dem Maintale (Greetings from the Main Valley). This collector-friendly multi-view format was enormously popular in the German Imperial and early Weimar period, gathering a region's greatest sights onto one card for travelers and pilgrims alike. The reverse is blank and unused, with only a penciled name — possibly "Oles Jauden" or similar — in the address panel.
