Antique & Vintage Postcards

A narrow sandstone corridor swallows the light in this atmospheric sepia view of the Entrée de la Goldfralay — the dramatic rock-cleft entrance trail in Luxembourg's Müllerthal region, nicknamed "Petite Suisse luxembourgeoise" (Little Swiss Luxembourg) for its rugged, canyon-like terrain. The towering layered sandstone walls press close on either side of a sandy footpath, hinting at the labyrinthine hiking routes that drew early 20th-century tourists escaping the industrial lowlands. Published by the celebrated Parisian house Neurdein (NELS) for Luxembourg distributor E. A. Schaack, this card belongs to a systematic documentary series of the Grand Duchy's scenic highlights produced around 1905–1915, making it a charming artifact of Belle Époque leisure travel.
