Soaring against a brooding Nordic sky, Gustav Vigeland's granite Monolitten rises from its stepped plinth in Frognerparken, Oslo — 121 intertwined human figures carved from a single stone column reaching 14.1 meters heavenward in a timeless meditation on life, struggle, and transcendence. This crisp real-photo postcard (RPPC) captures the monolith "sett fra nord-øst" (seen from the north-east), a favored vantage that reveals the full drama of the writhing sculptural mass against dramatic cloudscape. Vigeland labored on the Frogner installation from 1907 until his death in 1943; the park was formally inaugurated in 1947, placing this card squarely in the immediate post-war period when Oslo promoted the site as a symbol of Norwegian cultural resilience and pride. The reverse is blank and publisher-unmarked, consistent with Norwegian RPPC stock of the 1940s–1950s.
