Postcard Bull Fight Grand Parade Mexico Linen Unused 1930s-40s Matadors Arena

Mexico (specific city not identified)1940LinenGood

Matadors in sequined capes of emerald, gold, and crimson fan across the sun-drenched sand of a Mexican bullring while mounted picadors hold formation behind them — this colorful linen-era postcard captures the pageantry of the Grand Parade (paseo de cuadrillas) that opens every corrida, with tiered concrete stands already filling with a black-and-white sea of spectators. Bullfighting was a major tourist attraction in Mexican border cities and resort towns through the mid-twentieth century, and linen-era cards like this one — produced by an American publisher for the souvenir trade — document the spectacle in vivid Linenbrite color. Card no. 2025, printed in the USA for the Mexican souvenir market, unused and clean.
