Postcard Dutch Wonderland Lancaster PA Amusement Park Chrome 1960s Holstein Cow

Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA1966ChromeExcellent

Families cluster around a life-size fiberglass Holstein cow on a raised platform — a child kneeling at its side mimics milking — while others stroll past a charming miniature schoolhouse with a red cupola at Dutch Wonderland, the beloved Lancaster County, Pennsylvania roadside amusement park that opened in 1963 along U.S. Route 30 East. The vibrant chrome photograph captures the park's signature blend of Pennsylvania Dutch charm and mid-century American family fun: the "Milk Inside the Holstein Cow" sign is legible at right, trees in full summer green frame the background, and visitors in the clothing of the early-to-mid 1960s give the image wonderful period detail. Dutch Wonderland was founded and managed by Earl E. Clark, whose name appears on the back alongside a full listing of attractions — train rides, whale boats, the "Lady Gay" River Boat, 1910 Buicks, monorail, and sky ride — alongside a phone number (717-393-3846) and a price notation of 150 (likely 1.5¢ or $1.50 dealer). Published by James E. Hess of Lancaster, printed by Dexter Press of West Nyack, New York. Unused.
