Postcard 1967 Edinburgh Scotland Multiview Castle Holyrood Chrome Used QEII

Edinburgh, Scotland, UK1967ChromeGood

Four landmark views of Scotland's majestic capital are united here by a bold tartan band in red, blue, and green — St. Giles Cathedral commanding the Royal Mile, the craggy silhouette of Edinburgh Castle above its gardens and the National Gallery, the medieval warren of John Knox's House on the High Street, and the ornate facade of Holyrood House backed by Arthur's Seat. Postmarked Edinburgh 17 September (year partially legible, likely 1967 based on the five-pence QEII stamp), the card was sent by a traveler named Carrie to Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Barton of 311 Walnut St., Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania — a small town in Blair County that suggests this was a well-traveled American on a British Isles tour. Carrie's message is warmly enthusiastic: "We are thoroughly enjoying our trip. So much of interest."
